Crisp golden dosas are now so easy to make with ready to cook dosa batter. Dosa batter is a combination of urad dal and ground rice which contains rice, urad dhal, salt, and water. This dosa batter does not contain any artificial flavors or preservatives.

These thin crepe-like pancakes are filled or eaten with spicy potato fillings. Dosa mixes are much more convenient because they save soaking and grinding time. This same mix can also be used to make thicker pancakes called uthappam, in which the batter is mixed with chopped onions and green chilies before cooking.
